How to get an Irish business named by ChatGPT
What ChatGPT and Copilot look at before naming a business in Ireland, the steps you can take yourself, what to skip, and how to check if you're named.
When customers ask ChatGPT, Copilot or Google's AI Mode which business to go to, we work so yours turns up, with the right details, month to month.
Several Dublin firms work with self-employed people: bookkeeping, income tax returns and annual accounts, plus registering with Revenue.

AI assistants answer from what they learned in training and from what they look up there and then: your website, your Google profile, your reviews, Golden Pages and the directories in your line of work, and anything written about you. The first can't be touched. The second can, and that's our job.
Plenty of tools will show you what AI says about you, and Google and Bing give some of that for free now. What an agency adds is the work after: changing what those answers find until they get you right, and showing you every month what has moved.
Each service explained the way you'd tell a customer at the counter: what's included, what it costs, who it's for and where you work, in the first lines.
citable content: direct answers, sourced facts and buying questions
Your name, address, phone, hours and services match on your site, your Google profile, Bing and every directory you're listed in. When each source says something different, the AI doesn't know which to trust.
your brand recognised as one entity
Reviews, industry directories, best-of lists and local press that mention your business. That's what these tools read before they trust a name.
off-site mentions and reviews
Between 50 and 100 real buying questions for your trade and your area, run in ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, and Perplexity. We record who comes up, who gets cited and what's said about you.
Pages that answer in the first lines, prices and buying questions in plain view, your details in the format machines read, and the door open to the crawlers that help you.
Your Google Business Profile, Bing Places and the directories and review sites in your field, all with the same name and details. Plus the lists and local press where it makes sense to appear.
The same questions every week. Every month, a report on how often you come up, who cites you and in what tone, against your competitors, with the next steps.

1 · What we found
Asked for “a dentist in Athlone open Saturdays”, ChatGPT names two practices; your site never mentions Saturday opening.

The pages that answer your customers' questions, your Google profile and your details on other sites are sorted first. The first monthly invoice comes once you've checked them. Then, every month: more questions answered on your site, your listings checked and a report on how often you're named, and how.
We can't promise an AI tool will name you; each one decides what it cites. We promise the work in your fixed price, and you see each task done.
How the monthly fee worksSEO gets your pages into Google's results; GEO works on getting your business cited inside AI answers. They rest on the same foundations, and Google says as much about its AI features. GEO leans harder on answering in the first lines, on your details matching everywhere and on checking what the AI tools actually say.
There's plenty of talk, mostly in the promises. What we do can be checked: the same questions before and after, the pages we changed, the listings we fixed and the visits that come from these tools. If nothing moves, you'll see that in the report as well.
It's a fixed monthly price in your proposal, agreed after the audit, as it depends on how many questions need watching, your services and towns, and how much needs sorting. That includes the starting audit, the changes, weekly tracking and the monthly report, with no set-up charge and no minimum term. The first invoice comes once the set-up is live and you've checked it.
The changes to your site and listings go live during the set-up, on a date in your fixed price. How long each AI tool takes to take them in is out of anyone's hands, so a timeline from us would be made up. We track weekly so you can see when it starts to change.
No, and be careful with anyone who says they can. Each tool picks who to name in every answer, and that shifts with the day and the question. What we guarantee is the work: the pages and details we put right, and weekly tracking so you see what changed.
Partly. Bing Webmaster Tools now reports how often Copilot cites your site, and Google counts visits from its AI features with the rest of your search traffic. ChatGPT and Perplexity report nothing. So we run the same questions every week and tell you how often you appear, who cites you and how you're described.
Google doesn't need it: it says AI text files and special mark-up aren't required for its AI features. Other tools haven't confirmed they use it. We add one as it takes very little time, but it isn't the fix.
That's up to you. OpenAI splits GPTBot, which reads to train its models, from OAI-SearchBot, which reads to answer searches, and Perplexity does likewise. You can block the training crawlers and allow the search ones. Block the search crawlers and you drop out of their answers.
AI search optimisation (also called generative engine optimisation, GEO, or AI SEO) is the work that helps ChatGPT, Copilot, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews find your business, make sense of it and cite it correctly. We note what they say about you now, put your site and your details elsewhere in order, and ask them the same questions every week.
Google brought AI Overviews to Ireland in March 2025 (Google), so for many questions a summary now sits above the first result. Being one of the sources it links to is part of being found.
Some people who hear of you this way never land on your site: they read the answer, then search your name or ring you. Nearly everything that helps here helps your ordinary SEO too. The free audit includes what AI tools say about your business now.
For local questions (“a good dentist in Athlone”), AI tools lean on map listings and directories, so local SEO comes first: name, address, Eircode and phone the same on your site, Google, Bing Places (Copilot draws on Bing), Golden Pages and the directories you use. Where your town has an Irish name too, we make sure both versions point to you.
We also check that your site lets in the crawlers of the AI search tools you want to appear in (OpenAI's crawler list), and that each page says what you do, where and for whom in its first lines.
Generative engine optimisation (GEO), answer engine optimisation (AEO), AI SEO and LLM SEO all describe the same job: preparing your business so the systems that write answers (ChatGPT search, Perplexity, Copilot, Gemini, Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode) can find, understand and cite you. There's no secret switch.
The difference from SEO services is what the searcher gets. On Google they see a list of links and pick one; in an AI answer they get a written reply that mentions a few sources, or none. So it matters more that each page answers in its first lines, that your details match off your site and that other sites talk about you. The foundation doesn't change: if your site has no page for a service, no AI tool has anything to pull from.
First we write down what people ask before they book: “dentist in Athlone open Saturdays”, “how much is a filling in Ireland”, “dentist near me that takes the PRSI dental scheme”. Somewhere between 50 and 100 questions, depending on what you offer and how many towns you serve.
Then we put them to ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, and Perplexity, and save every answer.
Which practices each answer names, in what order, and how many answers include you.
share of voice
The pages each answer links to: yours, another practice, Golden Pages, a health directory or a local paper.
citations

accuracy and sentiment
Google is explicit about its side: there are no extra requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and no special file or schema to add; a page just has to be indexed and eligible to show with a snippet (AI features and your website). Google also says these features may run several related searches to build one answer, which rewards pages that cover a topic's follow-up questions.
ChatGPT searches with OpenAI's OAI-SearchBot, and OpenAI says sites that block it won't be shown in ChatGPT search answers (its crawler docs). Perplexity uses PerplexityBot to surface and link sites in its results (its docs). Copilot runs on Bing, so your site needs to be in Bing too.
What's known to help: a site search engines can find and OpenAI's search crawler can reach, pages that say plainly what you do, where and for whom, and other sites (reviews, directories, local press) that back it up. What isn't known is the exact weight of each piece, because nobody has published it.
For local questions (“photographer near me who does elopements”), answers lean heavily on Google Business Profiles and their reviews, so local SEO matters as much as your site. We walk through it step by step in how to get your business on ChatGPT.
Google counts visits from AI Overviews and AI Mode inside the Search Console Performance report, mixed in with the rest of your web search traffic. Since February 2026, Bing shows how often Copilot cites your site in its AI Performance report. ChatGPT and Perplexity don't offer any report.
That's why we track the same questions every week: it shows whether you come up more, get cited more and whether what's said about you has changed. Answers vary by day and by who's asking, so we show you the trend, not a single snapshot. Visits from chatgpt.com or perplexity.ai are counted in your analytics.
A serious AI SEO agency does things you can check: questions saved before and after, pages rewritten, details fixed on other sites and AI referrals measured in your analytics. What it shouldn't sell you is a magic file, a list of tricks or a promise that ChatGPT will recommend you.
If your site has technical problems that stop Google from reading it, an SEO audit comes before any work for AI. And if you don't have a page for each service yet, we start with your website.
It's a fixed monthly price agreed in your proposal after the audit, since it depends on your business: how many questions need watching, how many services and towns you cover, and how much needs sorting on your site and elsewhere. That includes the set-up (the starting audit and those changes) and then the monthly work: more questions answered on your site, listings and mentions kept current, weekly tracking and a report. No set-up charge and no minimum term; 30 days' notice and you're done.
The first invoice arrives once the set-up is live and you've looked over it. If we look after your SEO as well, the audit shows where the work overlaps and the fixed price spells it out. How we price every job is on our pricing page.
Your customers' questions run in ChatGPT, Google and Perplexity, with every answer saved: who comes up, who gets cited and what's said about you and your competitors.
