Questions before hiring a marketing agency in the UK
What does a small business marketing agency actually do?
It helps a business win customers online: getting found on Google and Google Maps, making the website convincing and, when it pays off, running ads on Google or social media. We do SEO, Google Ads, web design, social media and AI search optimisation (getting ChatGPT and Google's AI to name you) and coordinate them towards the same goal: more calls, messages and enquiries.
How much does a digital marketing agency cost in the UK?
It depends on what your business needs, which is why there's no price list: a five-page site and an online shop aren't the same job, and nor is SEO for one town and for the whole country. After the free audit you get a fixed quote in pounds, within a week and with no obligation. The website is paid once it's live; monthly work has no minimum term, and ad spend goes straight to Google. More on our quotes page.
Who runs Scalia, and where are you based?
Two partners, Òscar Bordetas and Carles Encinas, both SEO specialists. We're based in Barcelona, Spain, and work remotely with small businesses across the UK: you deal with both of us by email, we reply on working days and you're invoiced in pounds sterling. Everything we do for you is visible on your tracking page.
What if something isn't right when it's finished?
Before you pay, you go through the delivery line by line with your proposal in hand. If anything in it is missing or doesn't work, we fix it before you pay. If you want something different from what we agreed, we tell you first what it involves and you decide.
Should I start with SEO or PPC?
It depends on how quickly you need enquiries and the state of your website. With PPC you can appear the day the campaign goes live, but you pay for every click and it stops when you stop. SEO takes longer and keeps bringing visits without paying per click. Many local firms run both at first; the audit tells you which we'd do first.
Tomorrow someone will search for what you do. Make sure it's you they find.
