An SEO audit that finds the calls you're losing

Pages Google can't reach, the same service at three addresses, a site that crawls on mobile data. We find the problems, sort them by what they cost you and then fix them.

A dental group's page indexing report: the reasons Google wasn't indexing pages (404 errors, redirects, duplicates and “noindex” tags) turn to “Passed” one by one and indexed pages go from 58 to 178. Practice and figures are examples.

Your site looks fine to you, and Google sees something different

Most of what drags a website down can't be seen from the home page.
  • Search Console keeps emailing you about “issues” and nobody has opened one since spring.
  • Pages that used to bring calls have quietly slipped off the first page.
  • Your last agency left a 60-page export of tool warnings and no idea where to begin.
  • After a redesign your visits dropped and nobody could explain why.

What you get when the audit ends with the fixes made

How we get there

We go through your site as Google does: which pages it reaches, which it keeps and which it ignores, and why. Then we compare that with what your customers type, to find the missing pages and the ones competing with each other.

Instead of 200 warnings you get the few that matter, in order of what they cost you, each with a date. The fixes in your plan get done and you watch each one checked off on your tracking page.

  • A short list, in priority order

What's costing you visits today goes first. Tool warnings that don't affect your rankings go to the bottom, or out.

    impact first, not tool score

  • Broken things fixed, with proof

Redirects, duplicates, broken pages, titles and speed: what's in your proposal gets fixed, with a before and after for each.

  • Your own data, in your name

Search Console and analytics set up correctly and in your name, so you can check the progress yourself.

    Search Console verified and monitored

How the SEO audit works, stage by stage

Four stages, measured against your own Search Console data.
  1. Access and data

You give us read access to Search Console and analytics, or we set them up in your name if they don't exist.

  2. Full review

We crawl your site the way Google does and check indexing, speed, structure, content and links against what your customers search for.

  3. The plan, ranked

What we found, in plain English and ranked by impact, with what we'd fix, in what order and by when.

  4. Fixes and a second check

We fix what's in your proposal and ask Google to recheck the affected pages, so you can watch the errors clear in Search Console.

What our SEO audit checks on your site

Every check comes with what it's costing you and how we'd fix it.
  • Every page Google should keep, kept
  • One page for each search
  • Fast on a phone
  • A page for each thing you sell
  • Pages Google understands at a glance
  • Links and mentions
  • How AI answers describe you

We tell you if your site's problems justify a full audit

In the free audit we look at your site in Search Console and on a phone and name the three things costing you most. If a full audit would pay off, we say so with a fixed price; if it wouldn't, we say that too.

What owners ask about SEO audits

Questions we hear before anyone pays for an audit. Yours can go in the form.

What does an SEO audit cover?

How Google reads your site (pages it can reach, duplicates, redirects, mobile speed), how well each page answers a search, who links to you and how AI answers describe you. Ours ends with the problems sorted by cost and the fixes in your plan carried out.

How much is an SEO audit for a small business website?

It depends on the size of the site: a ten-page site for a contractor isn't a store with 3,000 products. You get a fixed price in your proposal, and you pay once the fixes in it are live and you've reviewed them.

Can I get just the report and make the fixes myself?

Yes, and it's written so you or your developer can follow it. We'd rather fix it ourselves, because that's where the value is, but if you have someone in-house the report is yours to use.

Can an SEO audit break my website?

No. The review only reads your site and your Search Console data. Fixes come later, on the items in your plan, tested first and with a before and after for each one.

My traffic dropped after a redesign. Can an audit find out why?

Usually, yes. The common cause is old addresses deleted without pointing to the new pages, so Google lost what it knew about them. Mapping each old address to its new page often brings the visits back; the audit finds which ones are missing.

An SEO audit looks at your website the way Google sees it: whether every page can be read, whether each one answers a clear search, how fast it loads and who links to it. Ours goes past the report: we sort the problems by cost and fix the ones in your plan.

More detail: SEO audit

Technical problems don't go away by themselves

A page Google can't read today won't start ranking on its own, and duplicate pages keep splitting what Google thinks of you. Every month they stay, the pages that depend on them stay buried.

If a redesign is coming, the audit matters even more: it tells you what to keep before anything is deleted. Start with the free website audit and we'll tell you whether a full SEO audit is worth it for your site.

What a Canadian site needs checked that audit tools skip

Audit tools are built for any site in any country. A Canadian small business site has a few things of its own we always look at: whether the cookie banner actually waits for consent before analytics loads, as PIPEDA guidance expects for tracking (OPC), whether English and French pages point to each other properly, and whether a .com built in the US is set up to rank in Canada.

We also check accessibility basics (contrast, labels, keyboard use). In Ontario, businesses with 50 or more employees must meet WCAG 2.0 Level AA on their public websites (Ontario.ca), and the same fixes help Google read the page.

Technical SEO audit: the checks behind the scenes

Technical SEO is everything that lets Google reach, read and keep your pages: how the server responds, how pages link to each other, what each address returns and how fast it all loads. Google's own SEO Starter Guide puts it near the top (helping Google find your content), because the best copy doesn't rank if Google can't read it.

The same check now covers AI answers: Google says a page has to be indexed and eligible for a snippet to appear in AI Overviews, with no special file or markup required (AI features and your website). If speed turns out to be the main problem, website speed optimization covers it in depth. If the site needs rebuilding, we plan a website redesign that keeps your rankings.

Free SEO audit or full SEO audit: which one you need

The free SEO audit looks at your business from the outside: how people search for you, what they see, your listing and your site on a phone. It's enough to decide what to do first. A full SEO audit goes inside, with your Search Console data and a complete crawl, and ends in fixes. Most small businesses start with the free one, and we tell them straight whether the full one is worth paying for.

What an SEO audit costs with us, and how it's priced

The price is fixed and goes in your proposal, set by the size of your site: a ten-page site for a dental office isn't the same job as a store with two thousand products. It includes the report, the fixes listed in the proposal and the second check. You pay once the fixes are live and you've seen them. If what your site needs is ongoing work, our SEO services include the audit as part of the setup.

What's included, point by point

  • Every page Google should keep, kept

Which pages Google stores and which it ignores, and why: blocks, errors, redirects that lead nowhere.

indexing in Search Console, robots.txt, sitemap

  • One page for each search

Pages competing for the same search, the call on which one stays and what happens to the rest.

keyword cannibalization, canonicals and 301 redirects

  • Fast on a phone

How long your important pages take on a normal cell signal, and what slows them down.

Core Web Vitals: LCP, INP and CLS

  • A page for each thing you sell

Whether each service has a page that answers its search, and which pages are missing or too thin.

    content and keyword gap

  • Pages Google understands at a glance

What Google reads to understand each page, and how your pages point to each other.

title tags, headings and internal links

  • Links and mentions

Which sites link to you, whether any of those links could hurt, and which local sites should mention you and don't.

    backlink and off-page audit

  • How AI answers describe you

What ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews find when they look for your business, and whether your pages can be cited.

    AI visibility check

When a full SEO audit is worth paying for, and when it's not

Worth it if

  • Your site used to bring visits and has been losing them.
  • You're about to redesign and want to know what to keep.
  • You get Search Console warnings nobody has looked at.

Not a fit if

  • You just want a tool score to show someone. We fix what costs you customers.
  • Your site has three pages and no traffic yet: you need pages before an audit.
  • You want the report only, for someone else to fix. We can, but the value is in fixing what we find.
